Sure, shine a light on the budget. That'll tell the US taxpayer how much they're being soaked for, but won't tell them why they're being soaked or how, and it certainly won't tell them what to do about it! You want to drive a stake through the heart of the waste, fraud, and abuse of the military-industrial complex? Let's start with the "cost plus award fee" rules that give a contractor $1.10 for every $1.00 they spend designing and developing our weapons! Would you feel a huge incentive to save money if you could make $1.10 for every dollar you spent on, anything? No one is stupid enough to give us a contract like that, so why are we collectively stupid enough to give these defense contractors billions of dollars that way? Wake up, America, it's time to take your nation back.
