You state "I also thought that between the five of us—most of whom had planned ahead of time to write about the meeting—we'd have it pretty well covered." The last three words link to the resulting self coverage. None of the three linked articles mention either that the meeting was off the public White House schedule nor that no press was allowed to cover the meeting. Perhaps next time you should wait for an actual record of transparency prior to awarding "good" intentions.
