What happens when you bring together hors d'oeuvres, ice cold Tecate, and three titans of military reform?
Answer: one heck of a panel discussion.
Earlier this month, Tom Christie, Franklin Spinney, and Pierre Sprey convened before a packed room to discuss The Pentagon Labyrinth, a new book tackling some of the major challenges and problems related to national defense (available for download here). POGO's Danielle Brian moderated. Christie, Spinney, and Sprey all contributed to the book, which was edited by Winslow Wheeler.
In case you missed the discussion (or had to observe from the stairwell on account of the high attendance), you can now relive the magic over on C-SPAN.
The Labyrinth crew has also been making the rounds over at Federal News Radio, which has interviewed several of the book's contributors thus far:
- Federal News Radio interview with Pierre Sprey
- Federal News Radio interview with Chuck Spinney
- Federal News Radio interview with G.I. Wilson
- Federal News Radio interview with Chet Richards
- Federal News Radio interview with Andrew Cockburn
- Federal News Radio interview with Tom Christie
Last but not least, your humble neighborhood watchdog had a chance to interview Wheeler at the top of the month.
All told, Labyrinth and its authors offer some important insights—and it's worth the while of any reform-minded follower of defense issues to check out the book and aforementioned interviews.
