There is still no word on when the government’s new contractor responsibility database, the Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS), will be posted on a public web site as required by the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2010 enacted in July. In the meantime, grab a bag of popcorn and watch this nifty little Flash video overview of FAPIIS produced by the Federal Acquisition Institute. For those purists who would rather read the book, here is the official FAPIIS User’s Manual.
The General Services Administration and Office of Management and Budget are still working out the logistics of FAPIIS’s public debut. We hear they are being generously aided by the Professional Services Council and other contractor interests who dread the limelight.
