All, We think that in all the rush to identify nuclear and other radiological materials we forgot what is in our own back yard. In a comprehensive report to you all a couple of years ago we identified what the Defense Science Board 2007 report characterized as "low hanging Fruit" 1/2 of the dreaded "dirty bomb" found in hospitals and medical research facilities across the nation. The group responsible for the "hardening" of these sites proudly announced this year that 40 of the remaining sites had been hardened and the rest of the 880 will be "hardened" by 2016. These Cesuim 137 containers have enough materials to contaminate 24 sq kl for 40 years.JB
