These subsidies really help towards keeping the aviation industry going during the rough times like the recent periods of 2007. It is a shame that Boeing were suspended over their apparent holding of someone other than their own property, but they paid a massive price of $615 million. Not to be sniffed at.

Dfens

They got a nice subsidy with that C-130 Avionics Modernization Program that they won by buying the services of Darlene Druyun, then head of procurement for the Air Force. By performing incompentently and dragging the program out for a decade they were able to spend $1.5 billion of our tax dollars and made $150 million in profits themselves, not to mention the profits made by all their various subcontractors. They made $150 million for their corruption and incompetence and we got ZERO. NADA. NOTHING. ZIP. ZILCH. And best of all, it was all legal. Better still, no one cares. Not POGO. Not even the obviously less than astute readers of POGO's blog. Poof, $1.5 billion tax dollars are gone and oh well...

And by the way, if you don't care, don't expect me to put my job on the line the next time I see some paltry amount being soaked up illegally. You tax paying idiots are obviously too stupid to be allowed to keep your money.
