In addition to the Senate Armed Services Committee waiting to see if William J. Lynn III can ethically and effectively serve as the Deputy Secretary of Defense, it looks like President Obama isn't sure either. When confronted by Politico's Jonathan Martin about the choice during a surprise visit with the White House press corps, President Obama abruptly ended his meet and greet with the press. Video below (the question about Lynn begins at 3:20):

Mandy,
No one else's interpretation matches yours. The president was clearly, and in context, objecting to any press questions on his little foray into the press area. He could have been asked about the rug in his office and objected to the query. As is often the case, POGO is over-reaching to make a point. That said, the Lynn appointment is certainly a legitimate issue which many public and unseen worthies have been pushing for resolution.
