The heat is on the Super Committee--it only has three days to come up with a plan to cut at least $1.2 trillion from the federal deficit or face the possibility of automatic, across-the-board cuts. Because we're sure the committee members would rather be eating turkey this Thanksgiving than being the turkeys, POGO is glad to lend a hand with these 10 Super Recommendations.
Most of these proposals aren’t new—POGO and our colleagues at Taxpayers For Common Sense offered them and others back in July as part of nearly $600 billion in savings we identified in our “Spending Less, Spending Smarter” report. But these highlights from that report are certainly worth a second look at.
