New Podcast Posted: Is the DCAA Resisting Meaningful Reform?

Headphone-mural Our newest podcast is now available here. This week, we discuss the problems facing the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Although the agency has implemented some reforms, POGO questions whether those reforms have adequately addressed the systemic issues (such as allowing auditors the independence to do their jobs) that hamper the agency.

Why should you care? In some ways, the DCAA is the first line of defense against fraud, waste, and abuse. According to Senator Joe Lieberman, the agency conducts 30,000 audits per year, covering a whopping $501 billion in proposed or claimed contract costs in 2008.
