Detour from Low-Road Contracting?

Irs With all of the debate over High-Road Contracting proposals that haven’t been publicly unveiled, I hope there is some agreement that contractors that owe taxes should be prevented from receiving federal funds.

A step toward achieving that goal was reported by GovExec yesterday — it appears that the Office of Federal Procurement Policy is attempting to sync contractor certifications filed pursuant to FAR 52.209-5 to agency contract awards. The next step is to see who filed an incorrect certification as those records are matched to IRS data. Tax season is here and the tax man is coming to collect.
