One Important Step Towards Curbing Over-Classification

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), Chair of the House Subcommittee on Intelligence,
Information Sharing and Terrorism Risk Assessment, has offered an
amendment to the Intelligence Authorization Bill that would require the
Inspector General of the Intelligence Community to prepare a report on
over-classification.
Earlier this week, POGO signed on to a letter supporting the amendment, which, as the letter points out, would be a valuable step towards curbing the costly practice. You may read the letter here.
