Not only is there a shortage, what little did arrive in places such as my home state of Texas, arrived after about three-quarters of us already had contracted swine flu (as noted in this rant.

On top of that (and maybe worse considering swine flu has turned out to be fairly mild and we lose 36,000 Americans to season flu), thanks to government reliance on a handful of companies, we also have a shortage of seasonal flu vaccine. In my semi-rural area, no doctors have any; as of a week ago you could only get it at the local Wal-Greens, and for all I know their supply may have dried up, too.
