Senate Votes to Kill the F-22

Great news: the Senate just voted 58-40 for the Levin-McCain amendment to remove F-22 funding from the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act. This is truly a landmark vote, and a major step forward for ending business as usual in Washington.

We'll have more on this later, but thank you to everyone who called and emailed their Senators telling them to vote YES on Levin-McCain. POGO will continue to push to make sure that the amendment stays in the final version of the bill, and that Congressional appropriators don’t insert F-22 funding without authorization.

UPDATE: Here's a breakdown of the Senate vote.
