Not So Fast: Is Somebody in the Senate Blocking the SIGTARP Nomination?
Just as we were beginning to celebrate the appointment of Neil Barofsky as Special Inspector General in charge of overseeing the $700 billion Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), Christopher Dodd (D-CT)--Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee--issued a statement claiming that the nomination has been “blocked on the floor by at least one Republican member”:
Unfortunately, the confirmation has been delayed by at least one Senator. That delay is regrettable and not in the best interest of American taxpayers. It is my sincere hope that those who are blocking this nomination will reconsider their actions and confirm Mr. Barofsky at the earliest opportunity.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more. In the meantime, we encourage anybody with more information on the possible blockage of Barofsky's nomination to post a comment below.

Dear Readers, 11/24/2008
As you have requested a reply to the seemingly and/or alleged continued seemingly deliberate and intentional seemingly corrupt, dishonest, disingenuous and/or hoodwinking, scheming and sugterfuge of our US Constitutional Democratic Governmentand seemingly by our US Legislatures and if not and/or seemingly by our US Executive and Judicial Branches that seemingly tends to render our US Democratic Constitutional Government nugatory. Also, as a further discomfort, Democracynow.org has this mornings broadcast had MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Noam Chomsky and other research guests that have mentione that the Obama//Biden Transitional Team has already begun to dissapoint and with detailed discriptions of the selections of his Staff and Financial selections and was mentioned that all these people should have received criminal subpeonas and seemingly not Presidential Appointments.
Also, it appears to me and i assume it would appear that your readers would also appreciate concurrently with your 'Oversight and Accountability' endeavors that mentions should also include with the same vigor and intensity that the (seemingly illegal, immoral, DISINGENUOUS and dishonest) subterfuge of the 'FEDERAL EMPLOYEE WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION RESTORATION ACT' of S1358 in 2003 and HR 985 in at least 2007,2008 be immediately be brought to a floor vote for and again unanimous veto proof approval.
Also, I have mentioned in a reply to the Obama//Biden Transition Team 'Bold new plan' to save or create only 2.5 million jobs e-mail to me that for less or very much less than this current bail-out that 25 million jobs could be created for a 2 to 4 or many, many more years and greatly enhance Federal, State and Local Governments.
Is it correct to suggest to assume that is there any hope to hope that there is going to be the 'Change We Can Believe In' on and after the scheduled US Presidential Inaguration on 1/20/2009 and that will seemingly receive a great amount of Main Stream Media attention??!!
Thank you and all for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Axel
